Finishing book that shows various finishes

Hi,
I want to buy some book with explanations about finishes and its properties as far as its accordance to different standards. Which book can you propose to me?

Hi, Vladislav. A number of product designers over the years have asked for a recommendation for a book that shows the various finishes and explains their strengths and weaknesses and how to specify them. I don't know of any such book :-(

Hopefully one of our regular readers will one day write such a tome 🙂

For now, I think the best single book you will find along those lines is the Metal Finishing Guidebook, but that is not quite the aim of the book, and not quite what it delivers.
