I am refinishing a chrome stool that was my husband's when he was a child and want to know if there is a do it yourself chrome paint.

A. Hi Shannon,

Perhaps you know this, but in case you don't, chrome plating is not paint. So my first suggestion would be to see if you can get it looking acceptable with chrome polish on eBay or Amazon [affil link] and if you do, then just wax on eBay or Amazon [affil link] it frequently and use it indoors rather than outside or in a garage or basement.

Chrome-look paints can range from simple one-can solutions to paint systems which require professional applications systems. Perhaps the best compromise for a childhood memory would be the best paint you can apply yourself, which is probably a 3-step system
