ALODINE 600 VS 1200

Hello ALL,

I just want to clarify exactly the difference between 600 and 1200. I am presently in the USCG and working in tech services for Avionics. I know that we are presently using Alodine 1200 for highly corrosive areas. Presently our antennas are using 1200 and from what I have read it may be better to use 600? Thanks for any assistance.

You would probably be best served by contacting the makers of the Alodine line of chemicals and asking them. Henkel is their name.
Good luck!

Hi, Steve. Jim is dead-on, of course, because these are trade names and Henkel is free to change their formulation at any time, just as Ford has felt free to use the Thunderbird trade name on a 2-seat, a 6-seat, and a 4-seat car when it suited them.

Still, letter 12466 advises us that the 600 is better for electrical conductivity and the 1200 is thicker and more corrosion resistant.

Dear Sirs,

What are the differences between Alodine 600 and Alodine 1200, concerning duration of protection?

Example: if we protect an aluminium surface with AL1200 before paint, what are the maximum time till require further application of AL1200 or the mentioned paint?

Thanks for your attention

Best regards,

John
