Application of Ebonex® Electrodes
Q. Dear Sirs: I'm looking information about application of Ebonex® Materials (Ebonex Electrode) to the oxidation or reduction of organics compound. I would very much appreciate your answers.

A. Hello, I do not have experience in oxidation of Organic Compounds with Ebonex, however, I do have some hands on experience using Ebonex to oxidize inorganics in unbelievable low ph's (<1). I also have done pioneering work in making electrical connections to Ebonex when used in extremely corrosive solutions. Later, JB

A. Have you tried the data base, "Uncover"? It can be accessed by going to Yahoo and searching under Carl telnet. There was nothing specifically about organics but there were ten references to Ebonex applications and I think there is something under electrocatalysis.
My own interest is in its use for the production of ozone. I think a small electrolytic cell that operates at low voltages (say from a PVC panel) would be an ideal way of sterilizing water in remote areas. But where to obtain an actual Ebonex electrode? RFQ: Do you know where I might get an electrode for experimenting?
Have you looked into "proton conductors " or "ion conductors" for your purpose? These are solid electrolytes that transport hydrogen ions and/or oxygen ions and are powerful reactors.
