Try to avoid brand/sourcing suggestions PLEASE!

Apologies. We post clearly labeled affiliate links and paid advertisements -- but try to avoid other brand/sourcing suggestions.

• Google is for 'live' searches; finishing.com is a permanent technical reference. Having sources/links in postings means wasting hours every week fixing broken references on a quarter million postings going back more than 3 decades ... and bad actors buy up old URLs to get links to their malware from trusted sites;
  
  
• People are only human, and seeing their competitors publicly praised has initiated races to the bottom -- the opposite of the Aloha spirit we strive for :-(
  
  
• Spambots prowl the web relentlessly 24 hours a day, trying to auto-post spam.
  
  
• Our "No registration" website makes it easy & safe to post -- no passwords, no data to hack -- but easy for shills to pose as 'satisfied customers'. Plus Google is smart; if they see commercial motivation that we didn't label as a sponsored advertisement they may remove our page from their search engine :-(
  
  
• We've been threatened with legal action several times, and "no registration" means we can't prove that a "dissatisfied user" wasn't actually a competitor engaging in brand assassination -- so we can't post negative reviews. But If we can't post complaints, how can we post positive one without misleading the readers ?  🙂

If you feel that a brand or source must be provided in order to answer a poster's question, please try to offer it as a source they can consider rather than as something you recommend.

• This is a public technical forum, NOT a private matchmaking/consulting service. Taking a discussion private disenfranchises the countless readers who get cut adrift. If you have technical (non-commercial) info to share, please post it or email it to [email protected] so ALL interested parties the world over can see it -- we have all the room in the world for anything you are willing to share, but we can't put you into private contact with others and deprive the readers of the resolution to the issues which attracted their attention.

For product reviews & brand recommendations please try Consumer Reports, BBBs, friends & neighbors, educational associations, industry trade groups, Amazon or Yelp reviews, etc., rather than this largely anonymous "no registration" site.
