Problems that the calcium can cause in the deposit of copper

Q. Which are the problems that the calcium can cause in the deposit of copper and its leagues?

A. Hi Jorge. There are at least three totally different classes of copper plating solution (cyanide copper, acid copper, and pyrophosphate copper) and many variations of each of these as well, and I'm sure excess calcium would have different effects in every case. So I'm afraid your question may be a bit too vague -- plus, I don't understand where this calcium is? Too much of it in the plating bath?

Please try your best to tell us the details of your situation rather than presenting an abstract question; or take a look at the copper plating chapter in the Metal Finishing Guidebook. Good luck.
