Shot peening of Electroless Nickel

RFQ: Here's a challenge, anyone interested?

I would like to know if anyone is capable of plating electroless nickel with at least 7% phosphorus and achieve a hardness greater than 700 knoop after a 12 hour bake at 525 °F, and then perform shot peening to achieve an intensity of 0.008 to 0.012 inches, using hard shot of guage 230.

If you are capable let me know.

Ed. note: This RFQ is outdated, but technical replies are welcome, and readers are encouraged to post their own RFQs. But no public commercial suggestions please ( huh? why?).

Q. Hello all, I have been asked by a local consulting company at looking into the prospect of developing a simple application to draw a Saturation Curve for the Shot Peening process. As I am fairly new to the industry and have seen the process done only a couple times, I am looking to experts in their field to help point me in the right direction.

What I need to find out is if you know of a standard formula used for creating the curve, or a place I could find one? I am starting to write my own, but not being an engineer it is turning out to be very difficult. Any help you can give me is appreciated.

A. Hi Chris. I would see what kind of technical papers you can get from Pangborne Corp. [Hagerstown, MD]. Good luck.
