Alzak process, bright dipping of aluminum

(1998)

WE CURRENTLY BRIGHT DIP ALUMINUM AND ARE INTERESTED IN SETTING UP THE ALZAK PROCESS.

DOES ANYONE HAVE TECH INFO ON HOW TO SET UP PROCESS, HOW TO RUN MATERIAL, WHAT IS THE BATH MAKEUP ETC. ETC.

Alzak is a proprietary process licensed by ALCOA.

The basics, or enough to experiment with it can be found in The Surface Treatment and Finishing of Aluminum and Its Alloys by S. Wernick, R. Pinner, P.G. Sheasby, pg 81.

This is a two volume set, not cheap, published by ASM, I think AESF and Gardner both carry it also. This is probably the singular best source of information and a great bibliography of references. A must for any shop that is going to do anything more than simple anodizing.
