HOW CAN I STEP TO 20TH CENTURY PLATING?

I just recently joined in the plating business, we work for the metal-mechanic industry of Venezuela and would like to expand. We are using very obsolete equipment that we bought along with the plating facilities. My interest: Update and Upgrade this whole Plant in the next 2-3 Years. I already have some engineers working at this, but I would like to know what a modern Plating Plant should look like?, Which are the best Rectifiers in the market?, What working principle do they have? Who can I contact?, I would like to make contact with US platers in order to bring my Plating Plant at least to the 20th Century. Feel free to make any Comment.

Anything which would lead to a plating shop with a dry floor per Ted Mooney's Finishing Shop for the Nineties and Beyond, is a small step for a man, a giant leap for earth.

There is a cute saying that goes something like: "A society which accepts mediocrity in philosophy because it is a noble calling, or shuns excellence in plumbing because it is a lowly profession, will have neither theories nor pipes that hold water."

While automation is nice, and advanced automation is even nicer, that's not the key to a shop for the next century. Rather, it's attention to the lowly details: a dry floor through proper layout, enclosed piping, secondary containment, and attention to dripshields and drips; a bright shop where people can truly see what they're doing; non-corroding plastic materials; access, cleanability and maintainability; and continuous improvement of the physical plant as well as the process.

The simplest and most reliable modern rectifiers are probably water-cooled SCR's.
