Texturing for plastic injection molds

2001

We are trying to etch alloy steel for plastic molds to give it various textures. Is there a method to do this without getting into the photoresist technique? Our idea is to repair damages in surfaces already textured and try to copy the existing pattern as much as possible.

Share of technical knowledge appreciated.

Also open to consultation offers.

We have been involved in the headlamp mold coating business for several years. There are varying degrees of quality from providers in texturing. Their systems that can mimic any previous texture, mask areas to be left alone, etc. Hope this helps.
