I am restoring an old motorcycle. The former owner used one of those "cream type" coatings inside the fuel tank to inhibit rust. It apparently was spread thoroughly all over the inside of the tank. Over time, the coating failed and is now loose in some places on the inside surface of the tank. I suspect there are numerous places where pieces of the coating may come off in the future and clog the fuel line. Any suggestions on what type of solvent or other product could be used in the tank to break the coating loose or dissolve it? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
