Bonding of silver plating

We plate the internal threads of some of our fittings with silver, however during testing it has been found that sometimes the silver plating will rub off and other times it stays on very well. Our fittings are made of 316 stainless and the plating I believe is electroplated.

Is there any reason that that plating should be rubbing off? Is there any process that will bond the plating better?

Try a nickel strike to get adhesion on your stainless steel parts.

We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
