Good Books on Plating, Anodizing, and Chem Films

Q. I am looking for good books on Plating, Anodizing, and Chemical Films. Especially the last two. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

A. My own list of "must have" books is printed at www.finishing.com/books/. We've also compiled a list of plating and anodizing books available for on-line ordering from Amazon at www.finishing.com/amazon/ and included some mini book reviews of a few of them.

A. This is a very good book for you: The Surface Treatment and Finishing of Aluminum and Its Alloys by S. Wernick, R. Pinner, P.G. Sheasby.

Good Luck.

Q. Looking for books on anodizing titanium for commercial use.

A. Hi Penni. I can't think of any books that cover that topic, but probably the most important single document is AMS 2488, "Anodic Treatment - Titanium and Titanium Alloys Solution pH 13 or Higher". The Metal Finishing Information Service database lists a good number of journal articles, patents, and conference proceedings on the subject -- please see surfacequery.com. Good luck.

Penni,
You can contact me for full package of titanium anodizing: color anodizing, hard anodizing, acidic anodizing, AMS 2488D anodizing, volcano anodizing (or porous anodizing) for dental implants, black anodizing for aerospace and jewelry. We are also in PA, and can come and set up all those processes.
