Testing for presence of sealant after zinc plating & chromating

How do I check if a sealant topcoat has given or not to the component because it is transparent (visual inspection not possible) and the thickness is negligible (hence measuring thickness is not a solution). I am doing a project for a tractor manufacturing company (OEM) on improving corrosion resistance of automotive components. Currently zinc electroplating with chrome passivation is applied. I am planning on suggesting a sealant topcoat.

It would be possible to study both together one with and one without the topcoat. In my experience its better to go for zinc alloy plating like zinc iron or zinc nickel instead of relying on topcoats.
