-----Nickel stripping for anodizing purpose
I am trying to obtain dual finishing, EN and anodized finish in one part. Which process is more feasible, EN followed by anodizing or the reverse?
if my part is full EN, how do I strip nickel from an external surface of a part while leaving the internal surface intact, in order to anodize the external surface?

There are definitely potential problems either way, but I feel that you will have less trouble if you perform the EN first while the area to be anodized is masked. Then anodize while the area that is EN plated is masked. Fully plating with EN then partially stripping just complicates the cycle without any benefit, so I wouldn't recommend that.

Joyce, Hi.
Very interesting. I have done such part before some time ago. The part is 6063 Aluminum spool with the internal diameter EN plated and the outside of the spool being anodized to various colors.
The part is EN plated first, machined, and anodized using a 'non-mask fixture '. There are other details to make the process successful. Good Luck.
