Neutralising solution for electrolytic polishing solution
Hi. I am using an electrolytic polishing solution 85% glycol,10% sulfuric & 5% hydrochloric for polishing cobalt chromium molybdenum dental casting alloy. My question is: what solution can be used to neutralise the electrolytic solution for safe disposal? Thank You.

Hi Jordan,
the acidic solution can be neutralised by using either caustic soda ⇦liquid caustic soda in bulk on

or lime. But the question is what you want to do with glycol for the safe disposal......?
Kind regards,

Yes, the glycol is the problem. Here in the US, one would never be permitted to discharge something like that to the sewer, even if freed of metals and neutralized.
Have it hauled away.
