Make up a Brite E Silver Plating Solution from scratch?

April 26, 2011

We use cyanide silver now for plating decorative metals and want to switch over to Brite E silver. I have the silver (999) and would like to have the formula for making Brite E and use my own silver for the solution content as well as the anodes.

Can anyone assist in giving me the formula and supplier to purchase.

Thanking all in advance for any information!

Hi, Zachary.

I think there's a typo in the question. I believe you are looking for "E-Brite" cyanide-free silver plating solution. This is a proprietary product available from EPI / Electrochemical Products Inc. [a finishing.com supporting advertiser].

Thank you Ted. You are right. I said Brite E Silver and the correct term is E-Brite. However it wasn't either I was seeking because it is non cyanide.

What I was seeking is called Silver E (Bright). And, I did find the chem specs for the Silver E (which is very bright) and I thank you for your correction and response.

If anyone wants the make-up for Silver E (Bright) I will be happy to share.

I appreciate so much your site and for those that do share information and God knows I need it. So I sure don't mind in giving it when I can. Just don't ask me to sell you Potassium Cyanide if you're not in the business ... no can do.

Regards
Zachary
