What are alkaline coatings? Can they replace acid coatings?

I just want to know the difference between Alkaline and Acidic coatings

Hi, Sengi.

It is possible to electroplate many metal coatings (like zinc, cadmium, copper, and tin) from alkaline solutions rather than acid solutions -- but I'm not highly confident that that was what your prof was talking about :-)

I suspect that you are not so much looking for an answer to your question, as looking for someone to explain your question to you -- and that is difficult because you are probably phrasing the question differently than your teacher did :-)
