Automatic buffing of stainless steel tubes

March 1, 2011

hello

I'm looking for a polish technique for mirror finish of stainless steel tubes (OD = 70 mm, 4 m long each).

I reach now with standard sandpaper abrasives down to 0.15 µm roughness.
I'd like further down polish it similar to electropolish finish.
I can't use grease/ oil abrasive for buffing since I need the surface free of any grease afterwards.
is any water based buffing that suitable to that case ? or other buffing compound that can be easily removed afterwards ?

Best regards
Doron
