At what thickness will the chrome crack?




Hi,

Our plating line is Nickel-Chrome and part is Brass metal. If Chrome thickness sometime may be 0.7 to 0.9 micron, what crack develop in chrome due to thickness?

The main reason for Crack visible on Ni-Cr Plating may be due to various factors
however the prime factor may be that the nickel plating is highly stressed due to large addition of p Brightener and other additives kindly do an Hull cell Test and determine
good luck
