Need aluminum threads coated

I have a needle hub that for many reasons needs to be made out of aluminum. The problem is that the threads release small particles of aluminum and this is a source of contamination. I am looking into coatings for this part, for example stainless steel plating, but I'm not sure if it will hold on the 8-32 threads. Is stainless steel plating a good idea? are there other better solutions?

Hi, Harry. You cannot electroplate a coating of stainless steel onto anything, but electroless nickel plating onto aluminum is very doable and a thin coating of a few ten-thousandths of an inch should not cause interference on 8-32 threads.
