-----Water sitting in aluminum pot discolors
We have an old, clean, unbranded, heavy aluminum stock pot. When we put water in it for several hours the water turns a light yellow/copper color. Also, 1/16" nodules appear on the inside edge of the pot. Does this make it unsuitable for cooking? What is the yellow color?
The color is the same whether the water is straight from the tap, or treated with a water softening system.

Hi, Douglas. I wouldn't use that pot, but I'd ask the health department to check the water 🙂
