Preserve high-shine finish on textured copper panel

Hello,

I am preparing a copper panel with longitudinal texture (embossed lines, resembling wood texture) for use as a backsplash in a custom kitchen. I scuffed the panels with steel wool [affil link on Amazon] and used Sculpt Nouveau Smart Coat Polymer Sealant which was recommended by the metal dealer who sold me the panels. Although the sealant was marked "satin finish" I was assured by the staff that that's the right product to use. Needless to say, it is not quite coming out the way I expected. I was looking for a high-gloss finish. There will be lights under the wall cabinets and the high-gloss finish on the copper is meant to add additional light amplification.

Please recommend a good copper high-gloss finishing product to protect and retain the original copper coloring and finish.

Thank you!

Well you sort of answered your own question. The product is marked "satin finish". Satin finishes are by definition rather dull and non-reflective. Almost all products like this are available in satin & hi-gloss. Or as in paints satin, semi-gloss or hi-gloss. Sounds like a communication error. Tell them you want it to shine like a new penny when you are finished and they will most likely give you the right stuff. At any rate the cans should read hi-gloss. Strip off the old finish and apply the new stuff.
