High temperature corrosion in polymer processing applications
Hey guys,
I spent some time at the powergen show in Florida last month, where a few engineers told me about problems that they were having in corrosion of their processing components during high temperature polymer processing.
After spending a morning scuffing around the web looking for what sort of this corrosion this actually could be I've been drawing nil.
Have any of you guys ever heard of this problem in the hi-temp polymer processing market? Any idea what sort of corrosion it could be on what sort of components? I ask because I'm trying to develop a high temp inorganic glass coating, and this could be a good testing platform.
Thanks!

A wild guess would be chlorine or fluorine released by the heat.
