Preventing flash rust prior to Cathodic Arc PVD Coating

I am involved with a lab that is coating steel parts with PVD finishes (using cathodic arc PVD).
Pre-cleaning of parts is done with an ultrasonic cleaner, however we are having problems with flash rusting occurring when the item comes out of the cleaner, before it goes into the PVD vacuum chamber. Can anyone recommend a method of preventing flash rust (i.e., some kind of additive to the rinse bath in cleaner), that does not require complicated means of removal before PVD coating takes place?

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
