Chrome plating on ABS

We need chrome plating on ABS part which will be used as a handle in S.S vessel. Can you help us about Plating thickness and testing methods for chrome plating parts?

ABS Material grade - Absolac EP200

We were advised to have 10-15 microns thickness by the supplier. Sweat test and Grid line test on parts. Is it correct? Thanks.
