Need high quality gold plating of guitar parts

December 8, 2010

I am a guitarist and own several guitars with gold plated parts. In this industry, for whatever reason, guitar purchasers have come to just accept that the gold on their guitar parts will just look good in manufacturer's photographs and maybe at the guitar retail store.

Almost none of the guitar manufacturers use a gold plating process that is very durable at all. Compounding the problem is that the guitar players handle this gold hardware continuously and quite often in conditions that are conducive to sweaty hands (we won't even talk about spilling beet etc.) and only the most fastidious of them will clean their guitar after use.

I have several pieces I need replated now, is there anyone in Chattanooga, TN that offers this service?
