Hydrogen Embrittlement in Machine Screws?

Q. Screw Material : MS C - 0.15 to 0.3%
Core Hardness 27 ~ 33 HRC
Bright Zinc electroplating with Yellow passivation.

Does the part require baking after plating?

A. It is generally regarded that de-embrittlement is not required for steels below 36 HRC, in which case these screws should not need it.

If you are in any doubt then carry out a de-embrittlement operation, it will not hurt the parts if you decide to do it.

A. Dear Ganesh Giri,
If you are referring to ISO 4042 for the Fasteners.
If the core or case hardness is more than 320HV, Hydrogen de-embrittlement process is to be done.
