Protecting small piece of aluminum from corrosion

I have a small piece of aluminum (about 6 inches), that I need to protect from corrosion. What can I use, and can I get it in a small spray can, and where can I get it. Afterwards I need to spray it with a Silver Metallic paint. It is to mount some LED lights on a motorcycle.

Hi, Brian.

The silver colored paint will provide some corrosion protection. Possible pretreatments that are environmentally acceptable for consumer application include phosphatizing, which can be roughly done with a spray can of "rust converter [on eBay or Amazon] ", or a priming with two-part epoxy paint. Good luck.
