304 SS reaction with Latex

We have an experience where aqueous cleaned and Nitric passivated 304L tubing produces a black smudge on latex gloves, but only on latex gloves. No other glove material will duplicate this effect. Could this be a reaction of the latex to the stainless steel? Has anyone had a similar problem?
