Is gold plating possible on DLC (Diamond like Carbon)?

We are a surgical instruments producer in India. Recently some of the surgical instruments are coming with DLC coating. I have a small doubt, that it it possible to give gold plating on the DLC coated instruments. (First the DLC coating will be given to the complete instruments and then some parts only will be covered by Gold Plating) .
Is it possible to give the Gold plating on the DLC coated area, please clear my doubt.
