-----New ideas for painting structural steel?
We fabricate structural steel and are laying out plans for a new shop and paint facility. I'm looking for ideas for painting our most generic products, WF beams 20' to 40' & TS columns 20' to 40' approx. My goal is to speed up production considerably and to cut coast.
Any great ideas - powdercoat, electrostatic? Maybe a new idea that hasn't done in this trade yet.

With standard shapes and profiles have you considered automating the process? Automated spray heads and IR curing on conveyers.
Also another thing we found was to check the amount of diameter changes or sharp bends in the spray gun/head and paint supply. Less changes leads to lower turbulence on the periphery of the fan. The possibility of lowering air pressures and reducing your overspray by considerable amounts.
We changed our spray guns and reduced our paint costs by about 15%.

We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
