Nickel-free Black plating

I need a black plating that does not have nickel in it. Any suggestions?

Hi, Kay. Easiest would be zinc-iron plating with black chromate conversion coating. Black conversion coatings are also available for non-alloyed zinc plating. I don't have personal experience with it, but you can probably do black chrome on top of a white bronze in place of the nickel. Black rhodium [adv: black rhodium plating solution on eBay or Amazon] is another possibility but probably an expensive one. Listing every possible black coating would be time intensive, and 90 percent of them would probably be inapplicable for your specific needs. What do you want to plate?
