Phosphating for rusty parts (rust observed in 3 days) for rework

We have some rusty rings (2000 approx) material M.S. and want to remove the rust. Can we do phosphate on the rings. We will not do plating as per drawing.

Hi, Vivek. If you are referring to piston rings, yes, phosphating may be an applicable treatment, and it should remove light rust.
