Stripper for acid copper plate off of zinc die castings

Can you suggest a stripper that will do the job without attacking the zinc diecast base?

Hi

Try concentrated Nitric Acid, take care of fumes!

Pure - no water- nitric will strip off of steel, but I think that it will rapidly attack zinc. Try it on a part before you get carried away with it. Commercial nitric has too much water in it. Go for the fed fuming nitric.

Macdermid offered a process based on polysulfide many years back. If they are not available try "liver of sulfur" followed by a cyanide dip to remove the smut.
If you must resort to this be very careful.
