Stress induced cracks after ABS molding parts meant for Chrome plating

One of the molded parts which is around 1.5 mts long is showing cracks when tested by dipping in acetic acid ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] as a test to ensure the ABS molded part will be free of molding stresses to help in getting a better chrome plated part.

Kindly give some reasons why and probable solutions for the same
