-----POWDER COATING ON ZINC PLATED STEEL
I am a design engineer - looking at using Zinc Plated Steel for an enclosure design. But for Aesthetic Purposes want a White Color - Powder Coat.
I have heard & read about adhesion issues with Powder coat on Zinc Plated Sheets.
What is the best way to get powder coating done on such material
?
Using Cold Rolled Steel with powder coat has issues - because scratches on powder coat give way for Rust to creep in.

Hi, Cherran. The zinc plating must be chromate conversion coated, which is customary anyway. The issue is that some of the proprietary trivalent chromates includes topcoats or have other issues that impede adhesion. You need to talk to your plating shops to insure that the chromate conversion coating process they are using will not lead to adhesion issues for powder coating.
