Pickle and Passivate Standards and Codes
I am a mechanical engineer for a pressure vessel manufacturer. We are quoting a job that requires the vessel that has incorporated a pickle and passivation process for stainless. We are Section VIII, Division I code certified. I would like to know if Section VIII Division I has any rules and regulations for the pickle and passivate process. If so where is it located. If not, what are the rules and regulations for this process.

Section VIII, Division I, of what?
Generally the only "rules and regulations" concerning pickling and passivation are the specifications for them, primarily
ASTM A380
and A967. Other than that, just common sense safety measures and proper disposal of waste per government regulations apply.
