-----Need a matte finish on Titanium substrate
December 3, 2009
Hi My name is Kurtis
I'm working on a project that consist of Titanium metal parts. Once these parts are machined we clean them. This cleaning leaves the surface non uniform in appearance. I'm looking for a method to create a uniform finish appearance with as minimal removal of the Titanium substrate as possible. I would prefer a chemical process but would I'm also interested in any potential abrasive blasting suggestions as well.
Thanks for the help

Suggest you try using dry organic media in a mass finishing system.

No problem to select the right method: depending on parts size - gel or liquid.
See the titanium part partially cleaned from oxides. Metal is not effected.

Feel free to contact us if you wish.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
