HARD CHROME PLATING 12L14 PARTS

My company does hard chrome plating, and are working with a job that the part is made of 12L14 and we are plating the O.D. of the part only and we are getting a black mark on the unplated I.D. after we chrome plate. We would like to get any opinions of what this could be and how to stop it from taking place.

I would look at silicon pull plugs to prevent solution from getting into the ID. No solutions = no black.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
