-----Microphone chrome or nickel plating
I have a friend that is in the music industry, a performer, that would like to have a very shinny microphone. This has peeked my interest and want to find out how I could do this at home, if possible. And if not do you guys know of a place that can handle electronic equipment. In other words be able to take the microphone apart chrome plate(or zinc plate) the case and put it back together without damaging it.
I am aware of the dangers with chrome plating at home so I can skip that, but if I can use zinc or whatever is less hazardous and still get a high gloss or mirror finish that is resistant to sweaty hands, I would really appreciate any suggestion you have. Have a GREAT Thanksgiving!

What you are probably looking for is nickel chrome plating of a high polish variety such as used in the restoration of cars. You should look for a shop that does restoration/replating. They probably will not want to take responsibility for disassembling/reassembling the microphone.
