Tin plating

How can I perform tin electroplating on mild steel (Is 2062). Tell me the procedure in detail. I've following questions 1) will it provide sufficient corrosion resistance for at least two year? 2) will the that metal part offer magnetism or not after coating?

Hi, Pankaj. Tin is non-magnetic. What is the exposure environment for which you seek a two-year life? Indoors it should be fine. Outdoors probably not.

This forum can answer specific questions and it can answer very general questions where you are looking for general direction and first steps. But when you seek a 'procedure in detail', you are looking for an answer of many pages, and plating books are a better venue for that kind of information.

Good luck.
