Wear of anodized aluminum on anodized aluminum

A small 6061 Aluminum-T6 hard (type III) anodized clear block will be constantly gliding on a stationary 6061 Aluminum-T6 hard (type III) anodized black plate. How long do you think it would take for the anodized aluminum to wear away either on the block or on the plate?

That would depend on the load /sq inch, speed, number of cycles per day and lubricant.

To add to what James said, coating thickness, and whether or not the part was sealed would also have impacts on coating life.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
