-----Standard for evaluating dust contamination in powder coating
Hello all,
At the moment I'm working on quality procedures for all kind of different parts of a toy. One of the main parts is a powder coated frame.
I'm familiar of several ASTM standards to control the thickness, the measuring adhesion, resistance against rapid deformation etc., but thus far I'm unlucky with finding a standard (and reasonable test criteria) to check the powder coating result for contamination (dust, and/or other).
Does someone of you know a standard or method to control the quality regarding contamination of a powder coated part?
I would be very grateful!
Best regards,

You should write your own cosmetic standard. Some of the companies that I've worked for adopted sections from different industries (mil-spec, telecom, etc.) then tweaked them to fit.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
