Interference after hot-dip galvanizing nuts and bolts

Q. HI, ONLY I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT HOT-DIP GALVANIZED IN BOLTS AND NUTS, IS COMMON THE INTERFERENCE BETWEEN BOLTS AND NUTS THAT WAS HOT DIP GALVANIZED? THE BOLTS AND NUTS WERE HOT-DIP GALVANIZED ACCORDING TO STANDARD NMX-H-004

A. Hi, Manuel. Indeed this is a problem. Galvanized coatings are thick and you cannot simply galvanize standard bolts and nuts or they will not fit. Usually the threads on the bolt are specially cut to allow for the galvanizing. Sometimes the threads of the nut are left ungalvanized.
