Electrical resistance of black conversion on Zn-Ni alloy plating increases with time

Hi everybody,

I am only a student and an intern in a company that provides surface treatment in France. We made as usual a conversion layer with chrome hex on a Zn-Ni coating and we measured the electrical resistance after heat treatment. But after a while, the resistance has increased and we don't understand why. I have some ideas but I usually come to this forum to learn about surface treatment so if someone has already notice this effect please tell me why is it like that and how can we avoid this increase of the resistance.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
