Neutralizing citric acid with Sodium Nitrite




Dear Sir,
1. What will be the reaction of addition of citric acid [on eBay or Amazon] on passivated chemical contain sodium nitrite (pH 9.5-10)for neutralizing and reducing the pH to (6-8)?
2. What is the formula of reaction? and what kind of gases will evolut?
3. Is there any harm on workers while mixing the chemicals for neutralization and subsequent effluent disposal for environmental protection?
