-----Removing nital etch stains
I would like to get a recommended process for polishing out nital etch stains on 9310 steel to get a bright finish. Does anyone have a proven process that results in a bright finish, but does not produce any surface flaws.

Progressively smaller size grit, Aluminum oxide would work fine and diamond costs more, but lasts longer.
I would start with 5 micron aluminum oxide and then go finer with each step.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
