Eliminate or trap off the Chloride from Sea water

Hi, I've a trouble to develop the procedure to make use of the Sea water, the Chloride create corrosion trouble to the steel. Then how can I get rid off this chemical from the Sea water? I know that the Silver ion can precipitate the chloride BUT it is very expensive and I don't know how to recover the Silver ion back to re-use again.

Hi, Prasit. I think you need to explain your situation before anyone can help you. Do you need one test tube full of water, or the continuous water supply for a major city? Reverse osmosis systems are used to make drinking water from sea water. Good luck.

Reverse osmosis or distillation are the two things you'll want to look at.
