Repairing steel doors powder coated with wood grain finish

August 13, 2009

Dear Friends,
How can I repair powder coated steel door with wood grain finish?
What is the best finish for steel doors that will be used in back of house areas? stove enamel paint or powder coated?

The best is very probably a properly formulated (for the use) powder coat paint.

The best paint to use would be one that allows you to properly repair intallation damage in the field, making it your call as to what you want to use. Powder coating doesn't really lend itself to field repair, especially not a custom finish like woodgrain.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
